So many products and inventions come out in the market today that it is sometimes hard to keep track of. Likewise it also goes for all the new terms that come out with gadgets and things. One of these gadgets is a grommet strip.
This strip is actually just a fancier name for edging or edge protector. The first of these kinds of edgings that came out for commercial use was done for car doors. Car doors sometimes have protective plastic or rubber grommets on the edge to prevent denting and chipping due to hard door slams. This kind of edge protection nowadays can be found on a lot of things.

Thus whatever edge needs to be protected this kind of protection can be used. Actually its applications and uses are best left to the imagination. You can buy it from any hardware store or sports shop even in different colors, sizes and textures.
So the next time you see edging or edge protectors, you will know the technical name for it and add it to your vocabulary.
